I sense some anger out there, well I never said anything was factual, but it was what i here from people around Tulane University. The people I know, or people that know people I know are part of the bigger picture at Tulane, not just athletics. If you only get your sources from someone in athletics, then they may not be able to tell you anything or they may just not know. It is not anyones fault. People need to realize that the athletic dept has to do what Gibson Hall and the Board says, not the other way around - this aint the upriver school or other schools that have their funding for all areas driven by athletic success.
My sources are some of the same people who pass on info to the portrayed "all knowing" on some of the Forums. My sources are some people on other forums. My sources are people that work at Tulane or with Tulane in some way. My sources are sometimes people who are spouses of people at Tulane.
The #1 issue is this, you cant be mad at me.... i have not caused decades of losing and unkept promises at the place I Love. All I did was state that I heard from more than 1 person that Tulane has or may have needed to keep the FEMA housing for another year. This should be no surprise since Tulane needs 100% funding in hand before starting a project. It makes perfect sense for the University to keep it another year rather than tearing it down before the 100% is in place. I hope it gets done SOON! Tear that crap down!
I think an insider on YOGWF said that Tulane was supposed to start re-modeling OR building new dorms on campus in the upcoming year(s), so maybe extending the FEMA housing has something to do with this also - so it benefits the University and Athletics to have more time to get $$$$ in hand.
Anyway, the news is just news - not enough to go on a witch hunt - if you were upset, I am sorry. If you dont like me, dont read me... I can blog here just to read it myself - to get things off of my mind, off of my chest.
It is an UNOFFICIAL Tulane Athletics blog - meaning I can say what I want, it is my opinion and my thoughts. I will try and keep Tulane's best interest in heart when I blog, but if I feel something should be public - I will say it. If I feel there the PEOPLE need to know, they will know! I dont have a Cone of Silence but I will try and use caution.
I am no different than if I post on YOGWF, WaveReport, NOLA Blogs, Scout Blogs....etc.
Those that read here have the choice to bring attention to what is blogged...... If you feel that something is good news, pass it on. If it is bad news - keep it quiet. If it is so bad that you can not live with it, COMMENT on the article and if I see your point I may take it down. If you just dont like me and want to knit-pic all that I do - then go cry somewhere else and censor other folks.
Happy Fathers Day - God Bless

Dude, post what you need to post. If someone gets their panties in a wad over at YOGWF, who cares?? It happens daily, (or almost daily), and if it's not because of your post, it's someone else's post.

Your post is most likely correct. The history at Tulane is 90% in your favor. Yeah, I know, I'm negative. But unfortunately, I'm usually right with my gut feeling on these things. On other message boards, only certain people seem able to contradict the status quo, all others are fair weathered or bandwagon fans or in danger of being banished forever.
ReplyDeleteThe person who revealed the SECERT review news was lambasted to the max at first until it was confirmed.
Cowen will not "Get rid of" the sport programs at Tulane, but he may be apt to let it bleed to death.
It makes sense that Tulane will need to build another dorm before they replace the Mod housing units. Since a new dorm has not been constructed, they will still need the modular housing for the foreseeable future. But that does not eliminate the possibility to construct the facility at a different location. The former Rosen House location perhaps? That leaves the Mod housing location for something in the future. Can anyone else see a beach volleyball arena on campus! Yeah!
ReplyDeleteIt's no secret that they renewed keeping the mod dorms. It was printed in an edition of The Hullabaloo that the dorms are staying around for another year or two because of the increased need for housing.
