Football - Ole Miss & Tulane renew Rivalry!

It was announced today that Tulane and Ole Miss will renew a rivalry that began in 1893. It is the first football game between the two teams in 9 years and the 70th overall. They will play the 1st game in 2010 in New Orleans and the Rebels come again to New Orleans in 2016. The Greenies will travel to Oxford in 2012 & 2017.

This is a huge landing for Tulane as Ole Miss looks to be taking the turn toward a consistent run atop the upper tier of SEC schools after this past 2008 season.

There is no doubt that the Tulane administration felt the need to get something done with top level competition in the region with the every growing deceitfulness and untrustworthy athletic departments of LSU to the West and Alabama to the East.

This was a great job by anyone involved to get this done now so going into the future, recruiting will be made just a little more easier with games vs. LSU, Alabama, BYU, Ole Miss and Ga. Tech all on tap!

Lets just make sure we get our share of the games at HOME(and play well/win while we are home) to spark local interest!

LSU is doing its best to wiggle every game from the Greenies and move them to Baton Rouge just before they bail on a contract and Alabama has already backed out of one game next year with Tulane(replaced with BYU) so they can go "make that money" and play Va. Tech in Atlanta.
